Jogoya

Last Wednesday(15th April), my mum promised me to try the lunch in Jogoya. I always heard from my secondary friends that the foods are delicious. Since I received a buy one and free one voucher, this is an opportunity for me to try the foods.

We reached Starhill by taking Monorail at 11am. The atmosphere was quiet as the restaurants and shops just opened. We waited for half an hour as Jogoya opened at 11.30am. By the time the shop allowed customers entering, there were about 10 customers lining up.

There were procedures for us to do before we could have lunch. Firstly, we need to present our voucher and then we need to make payment at the counter. Next, a waiter would usher us to allocate our sitting place. After that, I was very hungry and could not wait any longer. Haha… There were lots of variety foods. I just didn’t know which to choose first. So, I took suishi first. I selected every type of suishi. My mum took abalone, prawns, lobster and appetizer.

There were glasses on the table so you had to go to the counter to take drinks. I heard from Pei Thieng that coconut drink is their specialty. At first, I didn’t see any coconuts. So, I request from a staff to give me a help. The staff realized that he didn’t take out the coconuts. The size of the coconut is much smaller and it was fresh. They served Chinese Dim Sum, Japanese (raw fishes, tempura soup, suishi), Steamboat, Western, Malay dishes, fruits, cookies, and cakes. Their specialty oysters were fresh and nice to eat. I took my favourite ice-cream, Haazen Dartz. Whenever I took this brand of ice-cream, it reminded me of my Piano teacher who would gave a treat for those students scoring A in exams.

Oh yeah.. They also provided wines. I took red and white wine. Surprised? Not believe me? You can see the picture below. Haha… Nah… I’m just trying the taste of the wines. Don’t worry I won’t get drunk.

I was very full after having 2 hours meals. At 2.30pm, my mum and I left the buiding. Haha.. Now, who ask me whether I try Jogoya before? I would say yes..

My presentations

Last Friday was Good Friday and it was my challenging day.

I had 2 presentations, one is for Moral and another is Financial Decision Making. So, there is two versions-Malay and English. Haha…
My group was the last group to do Moral presentation. Group members were Yen Peng, Ann Qiao, Pui Mun and me.

During Moral presentation, I was stucked in the beginning. Ms Chew asked me for my name as I forgot to introduce myself.. Quite nervous at that time. After that, everything went well.

Ms Chew gave comments on our presentation.
First was Yen Peng. She was talking smoothly and there was eye contact. But, she spoke a bit fast. Ann Qiao was trying to communicate with audience. As for me, my talking speed is ok but I lack of eye contact. For Pui Mun, she was slow among all of us. Overall is Ok but some slides were funny. We lack of giving out the impact of War atmosphere to audience. I was satisfied.
Before ending our Moral class, we had photo sessions.

After Moral, we rushed to FDM class. Luckily, the previous group was not finished their presentations so we took this opportunity to do rehearsal. We started our presentation around 2pm. We were the last two groups. Hui Tin, Tiong Yi, Pui Mun, Jin Lian, Ke Xin, Kai Sin and Hui Kian came for our presentation. The first group is Jenny, Phoebe, Pei Tieng, Yin Nee and Siew Han. Their recommendation is not to accept the offer. Yin Nee presented the joint venture to set outlets in another institution in Taylor College rather in TARC. They were creative to conduct marketing survey. When CK asked about the analysis, actually it was not the real one. Anyway, their presentations are quite good. CK praised them.

Chin Kai was the first presenter. He showed the return on investments if Zubino is sold to WCB. CK was amazed the figures. This is because Luis would obtain 1,500% if the shares sold. I heard from Shir Lik that Chin Kai was presenting very different from earlier. I heard that he explained that Luis should retain the shop because he as co-founder might have a chance to make Zubinos became famous. Example, Michael Dell was the co-founder of Dell; Bill Gates was the founder of Microsoft. Our idea is to encourage Zubino to wait for Initial Public Offering (IPO).

Shir Lik and Koh Lung went well for their presentation. Yen Peng did not talk in speed compared to Moral. I think we didn’t keep track the time. Ann Qiao was trying to convey her message on branding to the boards without referring her notes. When it was my turn, I started well. But when it came to Ethics, I forgot a word-confirm. It was like this, “Recently, the UK Food Organisation…” I repeat this sentence twice. The sentence “conduct a survey” kept appearing in mind. For the third time, I apologised. This time, I used the correct word. Haiz… I had prepared my presentation and didn’t expect any errors. I was quite disappointed.

CK spotted a mistake on our slide. Carl Martin should not have any shares as he was just representing KPE. He just said that we did well. Actually, our class was the best because there were new ideas. All of us were happy. CK said that he has in mind which student would score A for this subject. For me, I just wish to pass. If asked me who deserve an A, I think Jun Loong, Wai Kwan, Yin Nee, Jenny, Hui Kian, Hui Tin, Chin Kai, Yen Peng and Wan Ling would get it. Before leaving, we had photo sessions.

Again, Pui Mun and I rushed to Canteen 2 to have our lunch. We ate Wan Tan Mee. Fortunately, Pui Mun and I reached the hall on time. Mr Andrew taught us about the deductions and tourism industry. He would tell us jokes while lecturing.

When I reached home, my legs were very painful. I think I had enough walking with those high heel shoes. Haha… That’s how my presentation ended. I will treasure this moments.

Evangelistic Talk

Hi.. I just went to the evangelistic talk last Saturday.
There were many new youngsters attended the talk and it was quite successfully.
This was also my first time to attend this kind of talk.
Pastor Jay Koopman shared his life story to us- How he experienced through a bad life.
He used to involve in selling drugs, abuse, etc.
Luckily, Jesus came to save him and he was forgiven.
Now, he turned a new leave and spread God's good news to all youngsters.
Telling them to accept Jesus as He sacrificed for our sins on a cross.
Easter day is around the corner. Let's celebrate together.
