My First Experience to Look After Young Kids

My mum and I decided to visit Yee Ma on 1st of May. Since she shifted to a new area, we didn’t have chance to visit her. So, this is the best time to go to her house. She lives near Tesco, Selayang and it is not far from Jinjang South. My brother has table tennis competition at Jinjang South so it was convenient for us to go her house.

Mum and I took a bus from The Store. Her house is quite easy to locate as it is just behind Tesco. It is double storey house and the residential area is new. The management provided guards for security. When we reached her house, there were kids in the house. My cousin sisters brought their children for Yee Ma to look after.

There were 4 children. Jin Jie aged of 6 years but his height look like 8 years old. His younger brother, Jin Loong aged of 1 year. Ee Jian aged of 1 year and has a younger baby sister, Shue Ni who is 11 months old. Ee Jian is older than Jin Loong for 10 days. When my Pui Sam, Jin Jie, cousin brother and his wife went out, I have to look after the kids. This is my first experience to baby-sit the young kids. I could say it was a tough day. You have to watch them for the whole day. When it was about time for the kids go to bed, I tried to make Jin Loong sleep but ended up Yee Ma taking care of him. Ah Poh has to lullaby Ee Jian and Shue Ni.

When you tried to cool down a kid from crying, another kid started crying. It went on for 3 times. Oh… It was a headache. I realized that it was difficult for a mum to look after the kids. I wondered how mums could handle 8 to 10 kids in the olden days. The house must be full of ‘wonderful’ sounds.

After the Jin Loong and Ee Jian have enough sleep, they were hyperactive to do jumping, running and walking here and there. Thus, Jin Jie also acted like them after they came back from shopping. When their mums were busy, I have to take in-charge. First, I have to keep on eye for Jin Loong and Ee Jian not to have fight. Jin Jie has to stay away from those kids. Next, I have to prevent kids from touching any wire or electrical plug. Stopping kids from going outside the house or the kitchen. My eyes became like a surveillance camera.

Although they were naughty, they also have chubby look. I like Jin Loong. He is cute. When there is food, Jin Loong would look at you and came near you. He likes eating especially ice-cream and cold drinks. Ee Jian is a shy boy but was fussy on eating. The wonderful part is both of them like go shopping. When Ee Jian’s father came, Ee Jian stood near the door and waited for us to take him out. Haha… Kids also knew how to jealous. When Ee Jian found out that it was not the right time to go out, he didn’t go near his father. However, when his father carried Jin Loong, Ee Jian was jealous and wanted his father to carry him. Haha…

I followed them to go shopping in Jusco. There were a lot of people in the shopping mall. Thus, it was a very hot day. Queuing up at counter would take half an hour. After that, we have dinner in Pizza Hut. Jin Loong and Ee Jian were laughing. They kept moving here and there. Also, they watched other people to eat pizza. Both of them were cute.

At 8pm, we went back to Yee Ma’s house. All of them were tired. Ah Poh’s husband sent my mum and I went home.

I like this kid (above). His name is Jin Loong. Looks very cute.. :)

This is Jin Jie.

This is Ee Jian.

Celebrate in Dragon-I

Finally, I have completed my internal exam finished on 29th April. Haha… I can ‘Merdeka’ now. Hurray… But it would last for a few days. After that, I need to study for external exam.. So let's enjoy now...

At night, I went out for a dinner with my family. We decided to celebrate dad’s belated birthday in Dragon-I, Mid Valley. My mum suggested that Dragon-I offered chicken for RM1 per dish. This promotion offered until 30th April.

This is the picture of 'yi men kai'. It's soya source chicken. Minimum 3 per person to order this dish. Very Cheap..and taste delicious.. But it was cold.

We also ordered other foods..

This is Toufu. Taste good too..

This is Shanghai Braise Pork and need to go with the 'man tou'. The pork was sweet. I liked the source.

Their service was efficient too. Look below at the picture.

Better try this restaurant. Hehe...

Jogoya

Last Wednesday(15th April), my mum promised me to try the lunch in Jogoya. I always heard from my secondary friends that the foods are delicious. Since I received a buy one and free one voucher, this is an opportunity for me to try the foods.

We reached Starhill by taking Monorail at 11am. The atmosphere was quiet as the restaurants and shops just opened. We waited for half an hour as Jogoya opened at 11.30am. By the time the shop allowed customers entering, there were about 10 customers lining up.

There were procedures for us to do before we could have lunch. Firstly, we need to present our voucher and then we need to make payment at the counter. Next, a waiter would usher us to allocate our sitting place. After that, I was very hungry and could not wait any longer. Haha… There were lots of variety foods. I just didn’t know which to choose first. So, I took suishi first. I selected every type of suishi. My mum took abalone, prawns, lobster and appetizer.

There were glasses on the table so you had to go to the counter to take drinks. I heard from Pei Thieng that coconut drink is their specialty. At first, I didn’t see any coconuts. So, I request from a staff to give me a help. The staff realized that he didn’t take out the coconuts. The size of the coconut is much smaller and it was fresh. They served Chinese Dim Sum, Japanese (raw fishes, tempura soup, suishi), Steamboat, Western, Malay dishes, fruits, cookies, and cakes. Their specialty oysters were fresh and nice to eat. I took my favourite ice-cream, Haazen Dartz. Whenever I took this brand of ice-cream, it reminded me of my Piano teacher who would gave a treat for those students scoring A in exams.

Oh yeah.. They also provided wines. I took red and white wine. Surprised? Not believe me? You can see the picture below. Haha… Nah… I’m just trying the taste of the wines. Don’t worry I won’t get drunk.

I was very full after having 2 hours meals. At 2.30pm, my mum and I left the buiding. Haha.. Now, who ask me whether I try Jogoya before? I would say yes..

My presentations

Last Friday was Good Friday and it was my challenging day.

I had 2 presentations, one is for Moral and another is Financial Decision Making. So, there is two versions-Malay and English. Haha…
My group was the last group to do Moral presentation. Group members were Yen Peng, Ann Qiao, Pui Mun and me.

During Moral presentation, I was stucked in the beginning. Ms Chew asked me for my name as I forgot to introduce myself.. Quite nervous at that time. After that, everything went well.

Ms Chew gave comments on our presentation.
First was Yen Peng. She was talking smoothly and there was eye contact. But, she spoke a bit fast. Ann Qiao was trying to communicate with audience. As for me, my talking speed is ok but I lack of eye contact. For Pui Mun, she was slow among all of us. Overall is Ok but some slides were funny. We lack of giving out the impact of War atmosphere to audience. I was satisfied.
Before ending our Moral class, we had photo sessions.

After Moral, we rushed to FDM class. Luckily, the previous group was not finished their presentations so we took this opportunity to do rehearsal. We started our presentation around 2pm. We were the last two groups. Hui Tin, Tiong Yi, Pui Mun, Jin Lian, Ke Xin, Kai Sin and Hui Kian came for our presentation. The first group is Jenny, Phoebe, Pei Tieng, Yin Nee and Siew Han. Their recommendation is not to accept the offer. Yin Nee presented the joint venture to set outlets in another institution in Taylor College rather in TARC. They were creative to conduct marketing survey. When CK asked about the analysis, actually it was not the real one. Anyway, their presentations are quite good. CK praised them.

Chin Kai was the first presenter. He showed the return on investments if Zubino is sold to WCB. CK was amazed the figures. This is because Luis would obtain 1,500% if the shares sold. I heard from Shir Lik that Chin Kai was presenting very different from earlier. I heard that he explained that Luis should retain the shop because he as co-founder might have a chance to make Zubinos became famous. Example, Michael Dell was the co-founder of Dell; Bill Gates was the founder of Microsoft. Our idea is to encourage Zubino to wait for Initial Public Offering (IPO).

Shir Lik and Koh Lung went well for their presentation. Yen Peng did not talk in speed compared to Moral. I think we didn’t keep track the time. Ann Qiao was trying to convey her message on branding to the boards without referring her notes. When it was my turn, I started well. But when it came to Ethics, I forgot a word-confirm. It was like this, “Recently, the UK Food Organisation…” I repeat this sentence twice. The sentence “conduct a survey” kept appearing in mind. For the third time, I apologised. This time, I used the correct word. Haiz… I had prepared my presentation and didn’t expect any errors. I was quite disappointed.

CK spotted a mistake on our slide. Carl Martin should not have any shares as he was just representing KPE. He just said that we did well. Actually, our class was the best because there were new ideas. All of us were happy. CK said that he has in mind which student would score A for this subject. For me, I just wish to pass. If asked me who deserve an A, I think Jun Loong, Wai Kwan, Yin Nee, Jenny, Hui Kian, Hui Tin, Chin Kai, Yen Peng and Wan Ling would get it. Before leaving, we had photo sessions.

Again, Pui Mun and I rushed to Canteen 2 to have our lunch. We ate Wan Tan Mee. Fortunately, Pui Mun and I reached the hall on time. Mr Andrew taught us about the deductions and tourism industry. He would tell us jokes while lecturing.

When I reached home, my legs were very painful. I think I had enough walking with those high heel shoes. Haha… That’s how my presentation ended. I will treasure this moments.

My Diary

Thursday, 20th March 2009
I felt very tired for the whole day. I didn’t sleep well last night due to my nose block.
During class, I learned about currency options and netting for Advanced Finance Management. Since the college reopen for this new semester, CK and SL became Permanent United Nations as they didn’t attend Dr Wong’s classes anymore. Dr Wong noticed them and started to take attendance. I thought Monica would be one of the members in PUN but she started to attend this lecture class and I saw her today.

After the class, I had Moral class. There were no tutorial questions to be discussed throughout the course. We just have to spend one and half hours to listen presentation from our own classmates. Today, HKian, HKim and KXin presented on the topic “Discrimination”. There slides were attractive as they put in some pictures, animation and comics. While they presenting, I chat with AQ about my brother who is in Kota Kinabalu now. He represented KL for table tennis competition in K.K. His team mates are NNgee, Nigel, Nicholas and Ah Weng. Their team managed to obtain third placing; NNgee and Nigel obtained first runner up for double event. My brother lost in doubles and Single.

After Moral, we had discussion for FDM but just CK, YPeng and me. KLung wanted to go back to his hometown, AQ has not started her writing for our assignment so she went back to complete it while SL went back. Actually, there was not much issue to discuss. Once they started the discussion, I was just listening to their ideas and comments from the beginning to the end. It seems like I was doing nothing. So charm… L However, I did my part for finance and ethics. If my work compared to theirs, it likes a very big gap. They put a lot of efforts in it as they did their research here and there. Honestly, I always admired them as they were knowledgeable. I wish I could be like them. Since I could not give my helping hand, I wish to learn something from their ideas and comments.

CK commented on my part for 15 minutes before attending my tax lecture class. For my ethics, I thought Luis Zubino started the volunteer programme but it was organised by his staff. I interpret wrongly. Understanding the English words seems difficult for me. I tried my best to do my part. Haiz.. Besides, the food product was not explained in an ethic manner so CK said he would do the amendments for me. How I hope that there is no changes in my parts. Anyway, it’s good to have someone to correct my work. In this way, I could learn from my mistakes. Basically, I finished my part. During discussion with CK, I found out that my mechanical pen went missing from my pencil box. Then, I remembered that AQ borrowed mine. Luckily, CKwas kind enough to ‘lend’ me his. Did you notice the word ‘lend’? Yes, I was not sure whether he said he gave me one as he has four. But then, I inserted 3 sticks of pencil nip without having second thought. How careless I am! I realized this when I had tax lecture.

For this small mistake, I could not concentrate in my class. Anyway, I decided to return mechanical pencil to him once I get my one. About tax, Mr Andrew taught us about the business income and expense.

Ok.. That’s all. Apart from that, there were some jokes. Jun Loong mentioned about KLung’s name. Some teachers pronounce his as ‘Lung’ in English. Haha.. Sound funny, right? Our group always have a CEO, Chairman, Secretary, NED… We always named ourselves differently. CEO is CK, Secretary is SL, NED is YPeng, Chairman is KLung, AQ and me are directors. Although KLung is Chairman, he said himself as those people who arrange chairs. Haha..

Something happened to WLun. He told us that yesterday was his bad day. His car was spoilt so he wanted to repair it. (No wonder I didn’t see his car parking in front of the college) He wanted to make a call but no batteries. Then, he wished to withdraw money from ATM. At that time, it was raining so he ran to the canteen 2. To his disappointment, one ATM was spoilt and another ATM was not able to withdraw to money. Not only that, a person fetched him to withdraw money from CIMB bank at TBR. To his surprised, CIMB was no longer in TBR. I heard that Koh Lung helped him in the end.
Ok.. That’s all. See you.
